Impact of Covid-19 on global logistics
AFRICA
- - Ethiopia and Rwanda: in total lock down, NO SURVEY is possible
- - Angola: Surveys till possible (but 15 days mandatory quarantine for population)
- - Madagascar: Surveys still possible. Movement of individuals restricted between 6.00AM and 8.00PM
- - Lagos :Surveys still possible (ports are open), but airports and land borders closed.
- - Namibia: Local dockyards closed for 2 weeks
- - Mauritania, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea Bissau : Borders are closed (so harder to travel for our surveyors. Local surveys till possible).
- - Tunisia, Libya, Egypt : Surveys still possible (but please note: travelling between towns not possible)
- - Djibouti, Tanzania, Mozambique, Kenya, Morocco: Surveys still possible. But all vessels are tested and screened, once cleared the use of protective equipment such as gloves and masks is mandatory.
Other African countries are still considered safe and have no restrictions, other than the use of protective equipment such as gloves and masks. DPS Surveyors will remain onsite, and are fully operational.
EUROPE
Surveys still possible.
Borders of most European countries are closed for traffic with the exception of the transport of goods. Ports, warehouses, terminals remain open! But: the use of protective equipment such as gloves and masks is requested
MIDDLE EAST – SOUTH EAST ASIA
Surveys still possible. DPS still receives many assignments from around the world.
India: Surveys still possible. However: complete lockdown for the entire country. Though the Port's, CFS, ICD's and Customs is functional with minimal staff, the logistics service providers staff due to curfew restrictions are not able to reach the port/CFS, custom's offices, it is impacting the services that can be offered.
Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Kuwait : The port and customs authorities continue to work, so flow of cargo has not been effected. Few delays possible due to reduced manpower or equipment shortage.
Other countries : no impact reported
ASIA PACIFIC
Surveys still possible. DPS still receives many assignments from around the world.
- - China : all ports and airports are operational as usual
- - South Korea : all ports and airports are operational to date
- - Singapore : no impact to any vessels and operations, crews from affected areas are not allowed to disembark.
- - Philippines : Enhanced Community Quarantine for Luzon island
- - Malaysia : Transportation of goods by land, sea and air are still allowed. Further limitations are to be expected
- - Indonesia : National Disaster – Non-Natural situation declared
Other Asian countries : No country/ cities lock down so far
AMERICAS
Surveys still possible. Local DPS offices in New York, Philadelphia, Miami and Houston remain open! DPS still receives many assignments locally, but also from around the world.
- USA : Several states have "stay at home" orders. Border between Canada and USA is closed for all non-essential traffic. Surveys will not be affected.
- Canada : The new border controls will not apply to trade and commerce in order to keep Canada's supply chains open.
- Brazil : Borders closed, except for cargo traffic, humanitarian actions and the traffic of border residents.
- Argentina : Official institutions, customs, air and ocean terminals will operate with minimum staff and only for exceptional cases and to receive current shipments on the way
- Colombia : Total lock down
All other countries : essential services in port terminals, customs and airports maintained
