Who are we looking for?

Our objective is to hire a candidate with a baseline knowledge of marine vessels and operations to trainand perform as a Marine Surveyor at Lone Star Maritime.

A Marine Surveyor will be required to attend individual assignments locally, and at various locations throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast. There will also be occasional assignments that require travel on an “as needed” basis. Travel assignments typically last no longer than a week, and all travel expenses are reimbursed.

This position is 100% remote. When not working on field assignments, the employee would work fromhome. Office work consists of completing tasks in preparation for, or upon completion of, individual assignments. This will include reviewing planning documentation, making arrangements for attendance, and preparing attendance reports for completed assignments.

Your duties and responsibilities

Individual Assignments Include, but not limited to the following:

  • Vessel and Barge Inspections
    • On/off Hire Inspections
    • Suitability and General Condition Inspections
  • Project Cargo Attendance
    • Attend cargo operations at various sites, including but not limited to:
      • Marine Terminals
      • Fabrication Facilities
      • Project Sites
    • Multiple Modes of Transportation:
      • Ships and Barges
      • Over the Road and Rail
    • Review, comprehend, and ensure adherence to approved transportation plans.
  • Communicate with LSM Management, Engineering, and Interface with Customer to keep all partiesup to date with ongoing operations.
  • Issue final reports upon completion of all assignments
