This includes scrutinizing the method statements prepared by the Shipping Lines in respect of lifting plans, loading plans and securing arrangements, and to check whether they are fully in conformity with IMO regulations.

The operations are subsequently discussed on board and followed at site, whereby the attending surveyor ensures that the cargo is properly loaded, stowed, lashed and secured to guarantee a safe transit to final destination.
